Flood Watch issued May 17 at 2:40AM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR OAHU AND KAUAI COUNTY... ...FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL ISLANDS IN MAUI COUNTY IS CANCELLED... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Kauai, Oahu and Niihau. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A band of moderate to heavy showers with isolated thunderstorms will slowly move through the western islands today, increasing the threat for flash flooding through this evening. All islands in the Flood Watch area should be prepared for the possibility of flash flooding. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

This swell will linger through the day Saturday, with the winds shifting back out of the east to southeast direction. * WHAT...Surf of 7 to 10 feet. * WHERE...South-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't go out.
